Web Design with Information Processing. Yr 1
Programme Aim
This two year practical programme, QQI 5M2067, introduces students to IT Skills with Web Design and general Business Skills to achieve the knowledge, skills and competence to find employment in an IT and administrative environment. A step by step approach in the first year in information technology, web design (HTML) and bookkeeping allows students to progress to Level 5 in Web Design, Database and Spreadsheet Methods as well as Computerised and Manual Payroll and Accounts. Work Experience in the second year gives students to apply their skills in a working environment. Current business software, Dreamweaver (Web Design) and SAGE (Payroll) are taught. Graduates of this course have successfully progressed to higher and third level education in Business Administration, Web Design and IT.
LEO Sponsored “Start Your Own Business” Workshops as well as Social Media Workshops with Digital Marketing are offered in the second year of the programme.
Applicants who have previous accreditation and experience may be able to proceed directly to second year of the programme subject to approval.

Start Date: 04-09-2023 Hours/week: 22 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 39 weeks
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway

On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competency to retrieve and process information, work independently and under supervision in the public and private sectors.
Local Enterprise Office sponsored “Start Your Own Businesses” are offered in the second year.
Graduates have progressed to Level 6 courses in WCFE or access WIT Diploma and Degree programmes under the Higher Links Scheme e.g. BSC (H) in Applied Computing; Bachelor of Business (H); BA (H) in Marketing & Digital Media and BSc in Software Systems Development.
