Objectives of the Programme Module
To enable the learner to explore the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of a care worker
To facilitate an understanding of the importance of multidisciplinary work in the care sector
To explore the various needs of the clients in a care setting
To demonstrate an ability to plan and provide enhanced quality of care.
To explore the need for personal planning and growth
To enable the learner to apply the skills and concepts in practical setting
To enable the learner to take responsibility for his/her own learning

Start Date: 06-11-2024 Hours/week: 06 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 11 weeks
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway

Age Requirements
Minimum statutory school leaving age (16+)
Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Learners will be able to:

interpersonal issues that arise in care work
