Computer Aided Draughting and Design (Blended Learning) NR
The programme has been designed to provide the learners with the skills and related knowledge in the application and modification of two dimensional and three dimensional computer aided draughting, to expose students to the latest state-of-the-art CAD software and to develop their attitudes, personal effectiveness and job seeking skills that will enable them to obtain employment using various computer aided draughting and design software packages.
Learners will get the opportunity to work with the latest software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Plant 3D, Navisworks, 3D Max, Sketch Up and many more.

State the planned outcomes and the conditions attached to attendance on the course: apply good safety, health and hygiene practices; states the basic principle involved in environmental issues and explain the meaning of equal opportunities.
2.Unit 301 Computer Aided Design Using Parametric Modelling Software
This unit will equip candidates with an understanding of the CAD
Parametric Modelling environment, enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills to create sketches, work features, table driven parts and assemblies, understand
constraints, create a drawing layout and enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills to generate and edit advanced models / assemblies using data
driven parameters and to produce photorealistic rendered
animations using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks.
3. Unit 302 Using 2D Computer Aided Design
Software
This unit will equip the learner with the basic understanding and
principles of 2D drawing environment, will develop their knowledge and practical
skills to create complex drawings including annotations and output
using multiple view layouts. It will also enable them to manage CAD drawing data and libraries in line with industry standards using the latest version of AutoCAD.
4. Unit 303 Using 3D Computer Aided Design Software
This unit will allow candidates to develop the ability to apply the
drafting procedures required to create and modify existing 3D
objects, either surfaces or solids, at any position within Three
Dimensional Space using the latest version of AutoCAD.
5. Building Information Modelling (BIM)
This unit will equip candidates with the knowledge of the Building Information Modelling environment, enable the learner to develop their CAD skills to create 3D parametric Buildings, create realistic renderings, animations, Virtual Reality designs, simulate structural stresses, energy planning, structural layouts, electric layouts using Autodesk REVIT and associated software like 3D MAX Design, Navisworks and Plant 3D.
6. Career Planning and Job Seeking Skills
Plan and achieve realistic work goals.
7. CAD System Justification, Installation and Configuration
Plan, Assess and implement a network install of CAD software. Students will also customise and configure the new software for various setups.
8. 3D Printing
Use 3D Printing to create models for a wide range of technical disciplines, such as manufacturing, product design and architecture.
9. In-Company
Demonstrate a broad range of occupational competencies in a real work environment.
