This programme module aims to provide the Learner with the tools necessary to use some of the
facilities and functions available in a Spreadsheets application to generate spreadsheets of interest
to the Learner
Objectives:
To learn about Spreadsheet applications, the terminology associated with them, their
functions and features
To use a Spreadsheet application to create spreadsheets for use in everyday life
To explore a range of functions in the Spreadsheets application and use these to enhance
the appearance and format of the spreadsheets produced
To use basic formulae to perform simple calculations in the spreadsheet

No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 2 when accessing a Level 3 programme.

Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a limited range of knowledge, skills and competencies skills relevant to the course and be able to work under direction.
