This programme module aims to provide the Learner with the tools necessary to use some of the
facilities and functions available in a Spreadsheets application to generate spreadsheets of interest
to the Learner
Objectives:
 To learn about Spreadsheet applications, the terminology associated with them, their
functions and features
 To use a Spreadsheet application to create spreadsheets for use in everyday life
 To explore a range of functions in the Spreadsheets application and use these to enhance
the appearance and format of the spreadsheets produced
 To use basic formulae to perform simple calculations in the spreadsheet

Education Requirements
No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 2 when accessing a Level 3 programme.
