Purpose
The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and higher education and training.

Start Date: 26-08-2024 Hours/week: 22 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 40 weeks
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competency to store, retrieve and process information, work independently and under supervision as an administrator. Our graduates have found employment in local public services and businesses. SAGE Software is used.
Under the Higher Links Scheme with SETU, Waterford VTOS graduates can progress to a range of degree programmes in Business, IT and Accountancy.
Eligible Applicants must be in receipt of an eligible Social Protection Payment for 6 months or more. Recipients of Jobseeker’s Benefit on commencement of the course will retain payment for the course duration.
