e-Business – Micro Credential Course

The e-business environment has changed rapidly over the last decade. Business interaction with customers has shifted into digital media, where a business communicates directly to customers through e-Business applications and systems.
The aim of this programme is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to:
• Use a range of digital business tools and applications to enhance the customer experience and business productivity.
• Enhance the sales and marketing approach of a business, by using e-Business applications for sales and marketing.
• As part of the course a dedicated workshop will be provided in Photography/Videography.
• 1 to 1 Mentoring in digital skills throughout the course.
The course would support the learning and development of the following key skills as identified from the Key Skills Cluster: –

CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English

Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

The course will provide the learner with the e-Business skills required to work in a digital business environment in employment or self-employment. The course will also provide the learner with the opportunity to explore e-business with a view to progressing to a third level course in the future. For learners that plan to progress to higher education, there is a progression path in the majority of 3rd level colleges and especially in SETU- Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Marketing and Online Media. This micro credential course will provide 15 credits

Learner Previous Experience: –
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate rate of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative. Priority will be given to Learners that have already completed the Micro credential course in Digital Marketing/Digital Editing. Places are limited to nine participants.

To lead the learner to an understanding of the historical, current, and evolving role of e-Business.
• To support the learner in identifying and evaluating examples of e-Business strategies across several industries.
• To help the Learner to develop an e-business strategy for their business, if self-employed.
• To guide the learner in selecting and using appropriate monitoring tools for evaluation.
• To lead the learner in developing digital and e-Business campaigns for suitable business clients or industry.
• To use digital platforms and systems to schedule campaigns.

The learner on this course will be interested in exploring the e-Business skills required to operate in today’s digital business environment. As unemployment rates continue to fall, this course can be attended in a part-time capacity to enhance employability skills. Micro-Credential courses have the potential to support upskilling.
