Objectives of the Programme Module
1. To create an awareness of I.T. concepts and technology and the impact of Information
Technology on everyday life.
2. To facilitate the learner to organise their files, folders and computer workspace.
3. To enable the learner to develop skills in data entry.
4. To enable the learner to develop word processing skills to perform common tasks.
5. To facilitate the learner to develop the skills to use the Internet and email as an effective
communication tool.
6. To assist the learner to develop the language, literacy and numeracy skills related to
Information Technology Skills through the medium of the module themes and content
7. To enable the learner to take responsibility for his/her own learning

Education Requirements
No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme.
