President Connolly Visits Youth Projects Supported by WWETB
Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB) was honoured to welcome An tUachtarán Catherine Connolly to Waterford for a visit highlighting the impact and importance of youth work across the region.
During her visit, the President met with two exceptional youth initiatives supported through WWETB:
Bernard Place Youth Café, Manor St John Youth Service
Millennium Youth Project, Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service
The President’s visit provided an important platform to recognise the power of youth work—its ability to empower young people, build confidence and resilience, and strengthen the fabric of our communities. Youth work changes lives, and these projects demonstrate that every day.
Both projects are funded through the Department of Education and Youth’s UBU – Your Place Your Space programme, administered locally by WWETB.
Speaking about the significance of the visit, Dr Karina Daly, Chief Executive of WWETB, said:
“I am incredibly proud of the role WWETB plays in enabling this vital work, and I extend my sincere thanks to all involved for showcasing the best of what youth services can achieve.”
