WX Pathways L4 (Major award 4M2010)
The Pathways Programme is designed for young adults (up to age 23) who are looking to kickstart their educational journey and achieve a QQI Level 4 qualification. This part-time, one year programme is perfect for those who may not have had the opportunity to complete their formal education but are eager to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.
Upon achieving a QQI Level 4 qualification, participants are creating a pathway to higher levels of education, such as QQI Level 5 and beyond.

Start Date: 25-08-2026 Hours/week: 17 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 38 weeks
Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.

Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work under direction with some ability to work on their own initiative.

Facilitate the learner to explore new vocational areas such as Work Experience or Work Practice with a
view to upskilling, developing new skills and exploring concepts and subjects that may interest the learner in future programmes or employment
Enhance the learner’s confidence in his/her ability and to build on his/her skills to reach his/her full

Facilitate the learner to develop his/her interpersonal, team working, learning to learn, time keeping
and time management skills, as appropriate, so that the learner is enabled to take responsibility for
his/her own learning and to support progression including future participation in education and
employment
Provide the learner with vocationally specific knowledge, skill and competence at this Level, thus
affording the learner the opportunity to progress to programmes leading to awards at NFQ Level 5
standard
Systematically enable the learner to develop the language, literacy and numeracy skills embedded in
the programme objectives and content
Improve self-belief in the learners ability to learn new skills thus encouraging lifelong learning
Facilitate the learner to reflect on and evaluate his/her performance while participating in the
