Painting (Fine Art)
Purpose: Painting(Fine Art) QQI Level 5 is a new part-time course for learners who wish to further develop their knowledge, skills and competence in a wide range of painting technique and media to foster creativity and self-expression in a supportive and friendly earning environment.
It is a progression pathway for learners who have previously completed the QQI Level 4 Painting.

Start Date: 07-09-2026 Hours/week: 03 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 36 weeks
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway

Minimum statutory school leaving age (16+)
Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Painting (Fine Art)Level 5 is delivered as a standalone module leading to certification in a QQI Minor Award. It is also a component module for learners who wish to achieve a QQI Level 5 Award in Creative Craft 5M1981.
