Graphic Design, Illustration & Design Skills
Graphic Design, Illustration & Design Skills is a new part-time practical course for learners who are interested in learning how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for employment or preparing a portfolio. This course is ideal for school leavers who love colour, drawing digital art, or making visuals for social media and to prepare a portfolio. The course would also suit small businesses or individuals who wish to enhance their digital design skills.
Students are introduced to the principles and practices of Graphic Design and Illustration, combining creativity with technical skills to communicate ideas visually to create high quality design work.
Colour Theory; Typography; Composition; Visual Hierarchy; Branding and Digital Illustration Techniques are explored. Through hands-on projects, students will develop proficiency in industry standard design software and encouraged to create a portfolio of original work; promotional materials; logos; publications and digital media designs.
Illustrated Graphics and Design Skills QQI Level 5 are offered for one day.

QQI Level 5 accreditation is offered. The modules are component modules for the QQI Level 5 Awards in Graphic Design 5M1995 or Interior Design 5M5054.

NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway
