**QQI Level 2 Reading & Writing Skills (M2C01 & M2C02)**

Would you like to feel more confident reading everyday information or writing letters, emails and forms? This friendly and supportive course helps adults improve their reading and writing skills for everyday life, work and further learning.

Through practical, real-life activities, you’ll build confidence at your own pace while developing the literacy skills needed for everyday tasks. No previous qualifications are required—just a willingness to learn in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Successful learners can achieve the **QQI Level 2 Minor Awards in Reading (M2C01) and Writing (M2C02)**.

Education Requirements
No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 1 when accessing a Level 2 programme.

Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.


Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an elementary range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to work under direction.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

Read and understand a range of everyday texts, including signs, forms, letters and instructions.
Recognise and use common words and vocabulary in everyday situations.
Develop reading comprehension skills by identifying key information from simple texts.
Write simple sentences and short pieces of text for everyday purposes.
Improve spelling, punctuation and basic grammar.
Complete everyday forms and written documents with confidence.
Plan, draft and present clear written information using appropriate vocabulary.
Build confidence in using reading and writing skills in everyday life, work and further learning.
Develop independent learning skills through practical literacy activities.
