Business Administration & Accounts (Manual & Computerised)
The Business Administration & Accounts is a new part-time two day course that allows learners to learn the skills and gain accreditation in QQI Level 5 Bookkeeping Manual and Computers; Communications and Business Administration as well as Level 4 Computer Applications.
Learners will acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and higher education and training.

Start Date: 07-09-2026 Hours/week: 11 Hrs 00 Mins Duration: 36 weeks
NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English
Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway

Minimum statutory school leaving age (16+)
Learning Aptitude
Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

You will have developed Business & IT Skills for employment using MS Office 365; Sage Accounts software.
Learn to prepare business documents; VAT forms for business.
Learn to use ROS, the Revenue Online Service system to make VAT Returns.
Employability Statement
The successful completion of the QQI Level 5 Major Award in Business Administration will enable applicants to work under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts.
This a pathway course and learners have the option of later doing QQI Level 5 Spreadsheet Methods: Database Methods; Payroll ( Manual & Computerised); Taxation and Work Experience to achieve the full QQI Level 5 Business Administration Award.
Former graduates have gained employment in administration; accounts or payroll areas or have progressed to further and higher education e.g. Level 6 Accounting/Payroll Technician and Degree courses in Accounting & Business with SETU.
