The Community Education programme supports local communities and community based groups in County Waterford, Waterford City and County Wexford with grants and tutor hours available to community groups.
Who do we work with?
Community Education is informal learning that contributes to the development of the local community.
Priority is given to:
Groups who organise community education programmes for people who may face acute barriers to taking part in education: older people, women experiencing disadvantage, people with disabilities, travellers, ethnic minority groups, unemployed, lone parents, men experiencing disadvantage, carers, ex offenders.
Groups providing community education programmes in areas where adults do not have easy access to part-time education opportunities

Reach Funding 2026
In addition to community grants and tutor hours funding, Reach funding is also available.
Introduced in 2020 to support the most disadvantaged learners throughout the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Reach funding has continued to provide vital funds to assist Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and community education providers to widen and increase their capacity and ensure that they can support the participation of those who need it most.
The WWETB Community Education Programme is now accepting applications from community and voluntary groups.
